JOB DESCRIPTION (HIGHER EDUCATION: Business)

About the Role

1. Teach Business on a range of programmes

2. To plan, deliver and assess high quality teaching and learning as required by your Line

Manager to the appropriate number of hours

3. To be responsible for the academic and professional development of learners

4. Oversee the day to day running of undergraduate programmes and liaise with link tutors

based at partner HEIs

5. To have a current knowledge of the business industry sector to inform excellent planning

for learning

6. Develop and share resources for the subject including effective links with the 16-18

Business Team to better prepare for potential progression

7. Ensure assessment is planned and carried out to the highest standard and meets external

regulations

8. Maintain comprehensive, up to date, programme, student/subject records and provide

information, as requested

9. Be responsible for the appropriate administration of exam entries for the subject and liaise

with external examiners and partner HEIs, as appropriate

10. Ensure close liaison and good communications with other staff in matters concerning

students

11. Use College systems, including the Tutor Dashboard and Promonitor to track and

communicate student progress

12. Value and support students to achieve their full potential

13. Effectively manage the behaviour of students

14. Engage in curriculum development and planning activities, individually and as a team

15. Participate in standardisation/verification and moderation, as required

16. Ensure provision is aligned with best practice nationally

17. Contribute to the development of the curriculum including collaborating with employers to

co-create the curriculum

18. To be responsible for providing an excellent learner experience in the subject including:

attendance, retention, achievements, high grades, National Student Satisfaction Scores,

College learner Surveys

19. Attend team meetings and positively engage in professional development as required
